The Westermeerwind Offshore Wind Farm project has been constructed in Lake Ijssel (Netherlands) along the dikes of the Noordoostpolder. The park comprises of 48 windturbines of 3 MW each; divided in two rows.
The Challenge
The client required independent technical support (Owners Engineering) to assess various aspects of the Balance of Plant (BoP) design that was being developed by the EPCI Contractor. This included everything other than the turbine unit.
Our Approach
Intecsea was employed to serve as Owner’s engineer with responsibility to:
- Review EPCI contractor deliverables
- Perform independent assessment of specific design aspects
- Support and advise client on matters related to offshore design
